johndenim
I was in my local p.a dept recently, and was informed of a new range of cabs by Cerwin Vega! and FBT. They did not have any in, but was impressed by them both. Anyone heard/got any of these? The CV set up for me would be a pair of cva 28 tops and a pair of cva 118 subs. The FBT's look nice, and good on paper, the tops are the verve 12a's and subs the verve 18sa. Am I right in thinking FBT are related to RCF?Any thoughts? John Denim. aidso
Well I would go for FBT any day. The reason being if you pop the drivers out they are all B&C drivers. B&C are used in many big names like DnB.

I saw some of the Verve's at PLASA, they 'looked' quite nice. Can't comment on the sound. I have some of the CV stuff standing in our demo room awaiting collection from CV who left it here for show, PM for info, I couldn't possibly say our thoughts out loud. johndenim
Cheers guys.Sir P.A, from your post, I gather you don't rate them?Either that or these are more suited to DJ work rather than live sound.Would love a demo of the FBT's, I personally have hear little of the company, and even less of their cabs! John Denim.
mervaka
I heard a DJ using a pretty new FBT sub/say system once. I cant say I was impressed by them from that experience. then again, I haven't heard them in a live music scenario.

John Denim. They're used alot in Europe and you see them alot in the States. I've noticed on more than two occasions Barrack Obama talking through some of those Jolly Active boxes during his campaign and I also heard someone else saying they have a decent prescence in the States, which seems odd for a product such as the majority of stuff they do. Their stuff did look decent at PLASA and it's odd, we've started ordering it in here before and then it hasn't happened for one reason or another. I think the look of other manufacturers plastic stuff is much better though and that the wooden/Verve stuff has a high price point for what it possibly is. Proel reps should take the hint and come up and demo some to us :** laughs out loud **: :P !
