Hi I was wondering if anyone new of any hire companies in the West Midlands or Wales (cardiff side) other than SSE , Stage Electrics I usually use SSE but just wondered who else I could get some quotes from, preferably companies who hire out larger systems I'm not looking for Bose 802's or Shermann at present I've been getting quotes for D&B c7.

The job I'm getting a quote for at the moment is in cardiff but I'm based in the west midlands so either or in between, but more company names for west midlands the better.

Thanks in advance

Josh

They may not be the best known hire company, but they've been around for several years and have an extensive stock of both sound and lighting equipment. The boss is called Hans Beier, if I remember correctly.

And when your talking to CAV ask to speak to Dave Hughes, and tell him Pete 'Flip' McCrea gave you his name. A good friend of mine who works for them. CAV can be ok, but Hans has a bit of a reputation for being a bit of a wheeler dealer, but I doubt that affects you if your hiring from them.

Or try USS (unique sound systems) in Cheltenham, on 01242 261438, ask to speak to Mark, Rich or Andy and again mention my name. USS have L Acoustics ARCs boxes, Martin H2 and H3 (I think) and a Midas Venice. Good guys. If you need an engineer Dave Cleaves who works for them has a fantastic ear.

If you need crew then give me a PM. I'm based in Cheltenham. Rigger/System tech/Engineer/Lampy/Video........ ;-)

Were based in Peterborough, but can deliver to anywhere in the UK. We stock L-Acoustics kit, which I think it's safe to say is of slightly better quality than Bose 802's!

Feel free to call or email either myself or Andy White our Audio manager, his email address is andy@pearcehire.co.uk.

USS and SAS sub hire stuff off each other......But I didn't tell you!!

Thats not really a surprise, I don't think there is any hire company in the country that doesn't sub-hire equipment of each other. At the end of the day none of us can possibly have everything that every client could possibly want in stock. Plus we all run out of kit from time to time when were busy!

It's particulary the case with L-Acoustics, thats the whole purpose of the L-Acoustics network!

Try out Stage Audio Services. I do a lot of work for them.

We have got high end Midas consoles and smaller consoles depending on your budget. L'Acoustic Arcs and subs and all needed bits and pieces.

Professional engineers and riggers.

All have big festival experience. Phone Kev on 07771932837
