For those who haven't seen my post on the ABTT CAD Forum

 

ABTT CAD Standards

 

If anyone is interested in joining a web based committee on the Standards, please let me know either by PM or at david@cad4theatre.org.uk

 

I would be particularly keen to hear from people who don't use AutoCAD, particularly VectorWorks, TurboCAD, WYSIWYG etc. Also those that work mainly in the 3D world, using 3DS Max/Viz and such like programs.

 

It would also be useful to have a range of users. These need not be restricted to the UK or even ABTT membership. What is required is a group of active users to work on this for everyone.

 

Most of the work is done on 2D Standards so we will be looking at:

 

Standards for 3D Modelling

Standard Layer Names

Converting Standards across programs

Standard Symbols (probably non LX!)

 

As I have said before it isn't appropriate for one person to undertake this work and then inflict it on the rest so help is required.
