ruibr
Hi, I've recently got a request for a series of events where I am supposed to hire in-ear systems for the lead singers of a band. There hasn't yet been any approach concerning brand names or models that I should buy so I'm still looking. This is one of the purchases I've been postponing since I believe it to be a very intimate and "artists" choice. But I guess you can have the system and the performer buys its personal headphones. But I digress... It seems there is a lot of consensus over the shure and sennheiser kits but those seem a bit pricey! One obvious option for me, having all of my radio mics setup from this brand, is Beyerdynamic. They have only one system that costs about the same as an middle choice shure or sennheiser setup. The thing is, there are also a lot of options on the low price brands, like dbTechnologies and LDSystems who look like they can give good performances.Especially if you add a good headphone. I suppose a lot of you have encountered several of these kits so I would really appreciate your input on this. Thanks Rui Miguel

Not quite true. The problem with the cheaper kits are the are plastic and dont take any abuse at all. Plus they will more than likly be fix channel. The best bet is the sennheiser EW g2 300 IEM good price for what you get. The earphones with them are very good no need to get others. Not a big fan of the shures. To fiddley to setup. As for the Beyerdynamic never really been a fan of any of their wireless stuff had a load of problems with them in the past with drop out and just falling apart. johndenim
My wife uses the afore mentioned IEM's and have been great ever since we bought them.the only thing we recently bought were some new shure phones, around £80, can't remember the model though. Don't know where you are based OP but there is a senn transmitter and 2 recievers on ebay here. John Denim. A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Hmmmm, after just reading the description again I find only ONE reciever mentioned... "The system consits of: EK 300 IEM stereo receiver, SR 300 IEM stereo transmitter, transmitting antenna and receiving antenna, NT 2 mains unit, IE 1 in-ear headphones, user manual." But there are TWO in the picture? John Denim.
ruibr
Thanks for the input. I'll be looking for prices on those Sennheiser units you mentioned and try to test them on the field. By the way, I'm based in Lisbon, Portugal.
