Different OS to share PowerPoint

OpenOffice's Impress isn't an application I'd use for 'professional' presentations - it doesn't use any hardware acceleration so the transitions are a bit dodgy.

 

The rest of the OpenOffice suite is really good - it doesn't (yet) handle all of the 'really clever' bits that advanced Excel users want, but it does do everything a normal user needs.

 

Plus it's one of the very few applications that use an ISO standards-compliant file format, namely ODF.

 

(- Nothing Microsoft produce does this. Even though they forced the OXML standard through an accelerated process, their own office suite doesn't comply with it.)
