Orchytech Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 I know that this is slightly off the Theatre topic but I have the BBC coming to the venue and they would like to encompass part of the audience with a semi circle of camera track. I see this as a trip hazard and have asked them to supply tensa barriers on both side of the track so as to prevent it being a trip hazard. I have also requested that they leave a 2m gap at either side between the track and the stage. The venue is a flat floor and the audience will be seated at tables and chairs, cafe style. Has anyone any experience of the health and safety implications of camera tracks?Any idea how they are used in a TV studio environment.
robloxley Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 I'd guess trip hazards, and hitting people with the camera, possibly running over toes. However, I'd get the BBC to provide a risk assessment and implement any precautions between you and them as appropriate.
