prolightdesigner Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi, Does anyone have a working driver or solution that allows Enttec's DMX USB Pro to be compatible with the DMXControl software? If not, does anyone know of similar (free) software that is compatible with the Enttec Pro and has an audio synch feature? Thanks,Jeff
peter Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 It's not free, but why not take a look at Light Factory (here) which is a fully featured lighting console and supports a number of off-the-shelf DMX interfaces.
peternewman Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Just to confirm, you are talking about this piece of software aren't you? I assume you've tried getting in touch to see how the development of the Pro driver is getting on? Alternatively, given it outputs ArtNet, there are certainly ArtNet to Enttec OpenDMXUSB bridges around, it might be worth Googling to see if anyone has written a similar thing for the Pro. Or find a friendly geek to do the honours for you. :P

I've tried Googleing for any working drivers but it seems that anyone who's successfully made one is not sharing it at this time :** laughs out loud **: . I also posted the same question in the DMXControl forum, but haven't gotten any replies. That's why I decided to start this thread in hopes that someone on here happens to know of a working driver or alternate solution. -Jeff
HobitLight Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Here's some free theatre software that uses the Enttec Pro Interface. And here's a list of other free software they make.

prolightdesigner Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Hey, I checked out that link and I think it's really promising. I downloaded the ArtNode but I can't figure out what to do with it. You'll have to forgive me, but I've never gotten this deep into the physical workings of DMX / ArtNet, so I'm pretty confused. I think my problem involves the config file that I'm supposed to make. How do I do this and what file directory should it be in? (FYI, I am only trying to get one universe of ArtNet from DMXControl to transmit as one universe of DMX through the Enttec Pro, so nothing too complicated, I think). Thanks,Jeff

Assuming XPYou will need to have a look in device manager and see which COM port the Enttec uses. Then runartnode -cIt will walk you through creating the config file, and tell you what to do with it! prolightdesigner Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Cool, I should be able to figure out the rest of it. Thanks for the help! -Jeff
