amp query

Is it o.k. to drive a two by twelve cab with a 50 watt valve head? The drivers are Celestion G12M, 25 watts, 16 ohm. I intend to wire them in paralell and set the amp to 8 ohms. Does this sound o.k. or do I need speakers with more wattage? Any advice appreciated thanks. :)

Should work just fine. Make sure you cable the positive terminal of the input to the positive terminals on the speakers and similarly for the negatives: ie you don;t invert the phase of one of the speakers. Good luck :P

Just a guess but assuming this is a guitar related subject. Yes it will all work fine and most guitar valve amps are very forgiving to impedance mismatches (sometimes it sounds better!)

 

You can ramp loads into the celestions they will sound great!

Yes I am the guitarist who will be using the amp head and two by twelve. I intend using the set up at gigs in the trio that I am in at present. The cab will always be miked up and into the p.a.
