Trying to set my lights from a master with slaves. Using spot 575 cmy zoom's, color spot 575's and robe 160xt's, wondering if anyone knows any ideas to set them all from a master light without the use of a desk (wholehogIII).

Any ideas anyone.

Cheers

Joe

You can only do this if the fixtures have stand-alone functions. And normally it will only be between identical units.

yeah the 575 color and spots have, don't think the robe's do, not to bothered bout those though. I assumed that because the 575's are both high end that I could DMX them together and leave them to it??

Can't make a 100% suggestion without knowing exactly what fixtures you mean.. I'm guessing you mean HE spot 575 cmy zoom's & Robe color spot 575's (seeing as there's no HE fixture specifically called a colour spot...) and 160xt's. But I'll try:

AFAIK its the other way around... the Robe's DO have master/slave functionality, but the HE gear won't...

You've got to remember the HE gear's more biased towards concert/theatre style work.. where you have a desk running them and the need for them to be able to do their own thing isn't ever really going to be needed. The Robe's on the other hand.. specifically the 160xt's are designed for disco/club use. The CS575's.. well.. They're just good for whatever really.. they probably thought its just as easy to put standalone in than to not...

Looks like its time to pull out your hog3!

The High End fixtures will work stand-alone, but only like with like, the Studio Colours will work together and the Studio Spots will work together.

It's all in the manual.

Leggy.
