joeGL84
Hey people, just been configuring two Robe spot 160 xt's to my whole hog 3 desk. everything is sorted and doing as told, however I can't seem to adjust the focus. any suggestions, nothing much to do with focus in the manual and unlike the high end lights I use, there is no focus adjustment on the hog. tried manual focus with the lens but no change, can anyone help out or through a few tips my way.Cheers Joe A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. don't worry, sorted took lens apart and realised the mechanism just needed a clean
Wol
If its anything like the Spot 150xt that I've used before (and it should be as its the same casing as far as I remember), you should just be able to turn the focus ring on the front of the fixture. It is sometimes quite stiff, but you can get them focussed if you keep going. There is no DMX controllable focus on these low end lights, so you'll have to focus them at the point on the stage which is used the most in the show. I just downloaded the club spot manual (I know its not the same as just the normal spot 160xt) looking for something on the focus, and indeed the only mention is to say that it's a manual focus! Although I'm not sure what more they could say than "turn the focus ring to focus it".
KevinE
Yes both the spot150 and 160 are manual focus only, ie you turn the big ring on the front with your hand. Based on several examples I've seen, the lens thread can get gritty and sticky, meaning when you turn the ring (made of rubber)..the ring just slips without adjusting the lens itself. Be patient and grip the ring firmly so the friction is transferred to the body below.
