obsoperator
With apologies for such a simple question, I only run the Strand OLE about once a year. It's on an old DOS PC I keep especially for the job, where it runs fine. I've checked the various PDF manuals, and the OLE key-equivalence sheets, but I cannot find how to view and edit channel levels in Blind/Preview using the PC keyboard. I can see the cue execution parameters in "Cue List" and "Spreadsheet" just fine (Ctrl-F2, for example), but I don't know how to view the pages of channel levels in each cue and part. Thanks in advance.
JMC
It sounds like you need to go in to setup and check that your number of displays is set to 1. This will give you a combined screen with both cue information and channel data. If you've loaded a show in from a console, then the setup values from that console will have transfered across with the show (assuming you ticked the appropriate box in archive) including number of screens. Alternatively you could use the key combination [sHIFT] + [LAST SCREEN] (or whatever the keyboard equivalents are) to switch between your displays. One of which will be your cue information, and the other(s) channel data. Hope that's what you're after!
obsoperator
Thank you very much. I've noted your replies on my printout of the .PDF PC Keyboard emulation keys sheet provided by Strand. Please understand that my next paragraph is not a complaint about your helpful reply, but just a note for the future: For future readers, I should note that [shift]+[Last Screen] has a special interpretation that is not obvious, although Strand could certainly say that it is consistent with the documentation. On a PC Keyboard, it means to hold the alpha key [Lower-Case S] and press the Space Bar [Last Screen on a PC] at the same time. On my PC, pressing [shift]+[spacebar] has the same effect as pressing [spaceBar] by itself. [upper-Case S] serves as the "Sub" key, which means that you get it by pressing [shift] on a PC! As you would expect, pressing the alpha keys [PgDown] and [PgUp] pages through the channel screens, regardless of whether you are in 1 Screen mode (with only half a channel screen showing) or 2 Screen mode with the Channel Screen showing. On a PC Keyboard, it means to hold the alpha key [Lower-Case S] and press the Space Bar [Last Screen on a PC] at the same time. I agree that the operation of the [sHIFT] key is not entirely intuitive in the OLE ;) The keyboard lowercase s acts as a toggle for the console's [sHIFT] key. You don't have to press it at the same time as the space bar - pressing it before will suffice. For example to do [sHIFT]+[CLR] to clear all the red channels (something I do fairly frequently) the keyboard equivalent is which will be echoed as [sHIFT] on the command line and then [delete] which will clear all the red selected channels and clear the command line. To swap the display screens you just have to do lowercase s then space bar.
