Monitor speaker advice

Hi,

I have got 2 of the "The box 1520" passive monitor speakers powered off a T.amp 2400 :

I have been quite impressed by them as a setup so far.

 

I am currently looking at buying some more to add to the setup when I noticed the active versions are only about £50 more per speaker:

I think If I get 2 of the active 1520's it will give me more flexibilty as I can use them to power my current speakers and use the T.Amp for a a drum monitor?

 

So my questions are:

1) Has any had any experience of the active 1520?

2) Has anyone tried the active 1520 driving a passive 1520?

3) I guess a passive system using T.Amps and unpowered wedges should be better but has anyone got any counter arguments??
