avdavesound
hi everyone, I'm trying to troubleshoot a ypoc575. it doesn't respond to DMX at all.I've tried different leads and controllers with no luck. all the self tests work perfect. so then I pulled out the pcb and theres a chip on it that looks a bit dodgy. so I when't to radionics and typed the chip number in and it gave me THIS. would this be my problem? thanks
Dmills
Possibly, that is a fairly standard RS485 line receiver that is used (in this case) to receive the DMX from the line and turn it into something that is suitable for further processing. It may well have been damaged by some sort of transient on the DMX line. Just swap it, and see if that helps (Make sure you get it the right way around!). Regards, Dan. boatman
Very likely, as that's the DMX receiver chip. Much cheaper from CPC. It's a good idea to keep a couple of spares in your toolbox.
