Dmx512
I have a Daslight visualiser " a box you plug between control desk and a laptop" and need to bring up multiples of par cans on the same dimmer address and cant seem to get this to happen , has anone had experience with the system and knows how to sort it before I e-mail the makers?....there is nothing in the vague manual to help either......Dave

There is nothing on the Daslight website called a 'visualiser', but there is a 'Virtual 3D Simulator' which may be what you mean. However this is not a "plug-in box" but a piece of software. The "plug-in boxes" look like this: http://www.nicolaudie.com/images/news/img1_pg1.png and are called "interfaces". There are several listed, but you probably need the 'DVS 3D' to work with the 3D software. You need to be clearer about which interface you have and what software you are trying to use. To get multiple sets of lanterns controlled by the same DMX addresses you will need to have multiple dimmer packs. How many discrete dimmer packs do you have and to what have you set their starting addresses? You'll probably get a lot more people who have experience with these interfaces on the Daslight Forums or The Mobile DJ Forums
Dmx512
Ok I called it a "Visualiser" which is simpler name for a Virtual 3D simulator and of course I have the soft ware to accompany the dongle box....what I am trying to do is put more than one par can to a single DMX adress to simulate on the screen a pair patched to one dimmer....... thanks for the links I will check them out.........Dave
tom_the_LD
I believe this software is the same as magic 3d easyview. If so, click the little black moving light to add a fixture, add a PAR 64 (which takes up 1 DMX channel and will be patched to channel 1 by default). After you have done this add another PAR 64 which will be patched to channel 2. Then click and drag the blue box on channel 2 which says "PAR 64" (or whatever it is) that shows the PAR64 is patched onto channel 2, across onto channel 1. They are then posed patched to DMX channel 1. That will get the software side sorted. Then you need to go to your dimmer. Different dimmers do this different ways, but you will need to set the start address to DMX 1, and all the other channels you want to be on that channel to DMX1 also. If you also have 2 sockets on each dimmer channel you can use these. Then when you put up channel 1 on your desk or whatever you are using (providing that desk channel 1 is patched to DMX1), then all the PARcans in the visualiser addressed to channel 1 will come up and all the dimmer channels which are addressed to channel 1 will come up. Hope this makes sense!!! Tom
