pearl Logic

Guess it's just the way I learnt to use the desk. :) Do use the shape geny quite a bit if something takes my fancy randomly, and I've been known to live program chases throughout a night...

Theres' something I couldn't do in run mode that I could in program but I can't for the life of me remember what it was! It's been a little while since I opped a pearl and without one in front of me I'm struggling with my memory!

The only useful thing I can think of here is that you can use the shape generator on the fly, whereas I'm not sure you can in run mode. I've done it once, but that was the most haphazard unorganised gig I've done. It's just so much easier to knock whatever I might need onto the memories then run it from there.

As for how I set things up, it depends. The more organised way is to fill each fader roll with the chases / memories / whatever I'll need for each act / band / whatever else. Or, depending on what's needed, I might do 2 bands or acts per roll. That way I've always got what I need, I've just got what I need, and I don't have to worry about needing A1 and D1 at the same time. If it's a bit less organised and it's something like a few bands playing or a school concert, I'll do one (or half) a roll with open white or gentle colours, then build up other rolls with chases or shapes, gradually getting faster and more wild!

It's worked for me
