Chris Adam
Hi guys. I've got an old EV power amp that I use for monitors but the channel 1 is making what could be described as a "fizzle" type of noise through my wedges. Channel 2 is clean as a whistle. Another description could be "radio static".I'm thinking it could be the PSU, but before I open it up, I thought I might get some tips on what it could be?Cheers in advance. richie1575
What model of amp is this? I had a similar problem with a Dynacord S1200 which are very similar to some EV models. If the amp has front mounted attenuators and these get a wallop, their mountings aint very robust and the pot can partially detach from the main board which can cause the symptoms your experiencing! The only way to fix it is to strip the amp down and change the pots... it was a pig of a job on the S1200!! Hope you get sorted! Richie
