Jazzhands
well boys, I`m off to see the void and turbo tq systems tomorrow! Really hoping they`re as good as I`ve been told. I`ll keep you posted with my thoughts.
Jazzhands
DEAL DONE!! bought this afternoon the turbosound tq315dps and 115 subs. The tops on their own are brill and the subs just add that extra oomph for bigger gigs probably if I need to put a full band through. Thanks to all who have posted and suggested things over what seems like a long time of looking. The blue-room has been invaluable so thanks again!Chris Gaskell. johndenim
Can I be a bit cheeky Jazzhands and ask what you paid?I'm looking for a new system as good as or near to the rcf tt. Is it similar in audio quality?
Jazzhands
Hi John, problem there being I never heard the TT system in the end! All I can say is that the only boxes that I really liked were expensive ones ( go figure?! ), but these tq315`s are amazing on their own before you bother with the subs. The subs aren`t going to kill anyone, but for my applicaion they`re just the right size/power ratio and add plenty if not as impressive as the tops. I paid £2k for the system which is a BIG saving on what I was going to buy and that was a factor, but I know that they are only 2/3 years old with a RRP of £6300 and I think they`re still a current model. It`s obvious 2nd hand gear is better value, but harder to come by in good condition and you`re at the mercy of knowing or not knowing a particular box. I`m a PA novice and so was guided by my ears, then the BR advice and when I got a thumbs up from both I went for it. These boxes are a similar price to the TT, but a bit heavier. They`re not silly heavy though and the spl on the tops is 136db@ 1m. My thoughts are that if you`re that sold on the TT you might only be happy with that and you`d do well to wait for the hen`s teeth to come along, but with my limited opinion the turbo tq range seems fab and has won me over. they look good too! the real thing for me was that the quality had to be there at low and medium volumes. A box that only wakes up at a certain level is no use to me, and I know these will do most of my venues without the subs. I`m happy, what can I say? . . . . my wife`s very happy! I`m no longer on the couch
