Bobbsy
For most of the topics you list (and compressors and EQ in particular) I can heartily recommend the Rane Notes in the Rane reference library. Bob
paulears
The kind of info you are asking for, for your college course, is pretty basic, and your college library will have all the info you require - it's one of the requirements that they have to have basic research materials available - plus, things like the Sound on Sound website have plenty of info. On top of that, you can visit the websites of people like Behringer - download all their manuals and read them. These even have nice 'how to connect and set up diagrams. On another note - I think that describing yourself as somebody in the industry when you're at college is not quite right - if you're a student, then that's what you are. Describing people as 'Noise Boys' or 'Lampies' is a personal preference, but my own feelings are that you have to know your stuff, to consider calling yourself by an industry title. Many of us find it really irksome when people can't be bothered to do the basic research themselves - so requests for a list of websites means we waste our time, doing exactly what you should be doing - taking shortcuts isn't good. And where's the pride in being able to say - "I did this all myself". If I don't know something - which often happens, I'd never come on here and say I didn't know it, I'd spend my own valuable time finding out for myself, so next time, I'd have the info.
