RADIO MIC ADVICE

I'm a relatively new sound recordist and I have found some AUDIO LTD RMS2000 WIRELESS MICROPH0NE's for sale. I'm familiar with audio ltd 2020 radio mics but I haven't come across these before. Are these receivers and transmitters good enough for broadcast work or would they only be good enough for use as a set of comms ? I 'm not sure if they are diversity or non-diversity mics.

many thanks

I used to have 4 channels of RMS2000 and they were excellent workhorses. I had them for something like 15 years and the fellow I sold them to is still using them happily about 3 years further on.

They're NOT a diversity unit but, in my experience, often outperformed so-called diversity microphones. The is especially true of units (like the RMS2000) designed for location work with the receiver mounted on a camera since the antennae are so close together as to not have much diversity of reception whatever the label says.

Disadvantages? So-so battery life, the covers on the battery compartment are easy to lose, and the only effective on/off switch is to unplug the cables which isn't always practical. However, in terms of both RF and audio performance these units are super.

Edit to add that I forgot to say that most of my use was for broadcast work, though I dragged them into theatres and corporate events fairly often when I needed extra channels.
