mimmo
hi:I'm not an actor, I'm a volunteer who helps out a small town theatre company and am looking for suggestions. I need to create some rain effects on a window pane and also light effects to simulate car traffic outside. This is for the play "American Buffalo". Any suggestions on how to create these effects will be greatly appreciated thanks

A trough or a piece of gutter under the water fall will stop the flood. You can drain the water to another point. A mike. placed by the gutter will make a nice sound effect. A strobe of light will simulate lighting, and a piece of sheet metal app. 3'x24" thin gague held at one end and shaken will make a nice thunder. For car traffic you can get a sound effect cd or make your own .Use flash lights Shine the flash light beam on a black background behind the window move ths light beam from one side to the other at varring speeds and directions left to right ,right to left . Two or three lights at a time will work also.Good Luck.
