aubz_101
hi I am about to light a production of Jesus Christ Superstar and the director wants the stage silver.I expressed my dislike for this because of light bounce etc (the director mentioned that she wants to keep things quite dark) and it has been left to me to find an alternative solution. I would prefer the stage to be black but does anyone have any other useful solution that might aat least sparkle or something to keep her happy?or even a colour that will light well Thanks Brendan
gareth
the director wants the stage silver ... the director mentioned that she wants to keep things quite darkJust explain to her that a silver (assuming she's talking about a semi-reflective finish) floor is going to bounce light all over the place, and is going to be at odds with her 'dark' request, and let her work it out. If a reflective finish isn't what she's after, then what about a grey floor? As long as you don't go too light, you won't get too many problems if you stick to a matt finish. A bit of paint spattering to break up the flat colour might also help.

Steve Cavill
Never seen it before personally, but how about keeping the stage black and dropping a starry sky lining in as the back drop? Not a theatre person so wouldnt really know, but its a suggestion.
