VGA or not VGA?

I am tempted to buy this http://www.theelectronicsshop.co.uk/Produc...rol-Theatre.htm

But am not sure if that port on the back which looks like a VGA port is one. I have looked over and over but it does not say.

Any help?

I can't see a connector on it that looks anything like a monitor output, only thing close to being the same size/shape is the power switch.

Yes it does look like VGA but it isn't listed.

that looks like a 9pin rs232 (or other protocol) socket. VGA is 15 pin, so this desk does not have VGA

At that price it is extremely unlikely, and if it was a vga I am sure they would let you know in very big letters.

I would go for no VGA, as they other said im sure it would be clearly marked. Also if you think about the size of a VGA to the size of DMX, and look at the DMX out on the picture you would be able to see it clearly if a VGA port was there

It isn't VGA because VGA needs 15 Pins not the 9 you can see on this one.

looking at the velleman website (link) I would but it down as the connection to the "optional foot controller" which is listed in the features.

RTFM. When you finally get to the right page, you actually have to click on the link that says "HANDBOOK".

 

Extract from the manual:

 

1 STEP+

2 PATTERN+

3 STAND BY

4 FULL ON

5 Common

 

Foot controller commands:

 

1. STAND BY button: press to change the STAND BY status.

2. FULL ON button: press this button to put channel 1-8 full on, overriding stand by.

3. STEP+ button: in chase mode, press to execute the pattern by one step. Pressing for more than one second would

increase the pattern by 10 steps/second.

4. PATTERN+ button: in chase mode, press to select pattern by plus one, press for more than one second would

increase the pattern quickly till the maximum and then increase from 01.

5. CONTROL outputs: same as the control inputs.
