SolutionProductions
I've just turned on my mixing desk to find that there's no signal coming into the desk on any of the channels or inputs!!!!!! It's been off for three months so I'm thinking the the capacitors in the desk have dried out or I'd guess the input stage has gone across all channels pointing to low voltage on the gain stage supply rails etc etc not too sure as I don't know much about this kind of thing, I really want this desk back. It's got a beautiful sound and some famous tunes have been made on it. before I go and buy the schematic does any one have a copy or can they point to a common problem...it's a long shot!! I have the service manual for the m2800 if thats of any help. You might want to check all the ribbon cables are seated correctly first
Mixermend
Too much speculation and not enough investigation here I fancy! It is going to be something quite fundamental - so forget about capacitors drying out - and first check out the power supply distribution and ensure that the correct voltages are being applied to various stages in the mixer. Remember that, unlike a digital desk, a normal mixer has considerable redundancy - so if a channel goes down, normally the others are perfectly OK. If ALL the channels are down - something common is the cause. More information required - any signal present LED's working, can you PFL any channel, are the bargraph LED's working? This mixer can also be automated with an old Windows computer - any problems with that possibly (if option fitted)?

The power supply seems to be fine and there are no LED's lighting up on the meter bridge which means no signal coming in.....therefore I can't PFL any channel..... If any one has the schematic I can probably get a friend to look at it..... thanks in advance if you can help!!!!
jamesperrett
The power supply seems to be fine How do you know the power supply is fine? Have you checked the power rails inside the mixer? Cheers James.
