paolone
Hi, I'm searching a new PA for small service. Our customers are: small rock group and theater. We're evaluating PA with more quality and power.I've heard Nexo PS15 and Meyer UPA1 are very fantastic but price it's very high. What wo you suggest for me (a configuration 4 top + 2 sub)?Do you ever heard new RCF TT25A? RobertKendall
What sort of budget do you have?the only down side iv found with the ps15 is the front is easly cosmeticly damaged! (flightcase a must)if money is in short suply, id go for something like the blackline F15s with a S15/18, a nice light cab, and a great sound for the money

Rob_Beech
Good heavens no. F15's with subs? Why lug the extra weight and size of the 15 around when you're still going to cross them over at the same point you would an F12? You'll get a much clearer sound from the F12 and if you are using a sub or subs with them then you do not need the extra LF extension the F15 provides. As for configuration, it depends on the room, your program material and countless other things. To stick with the Blackline range. An F12 will happily outrun an S15 or S18 for alot of program material, and especially playback. So really I'd expect at least 1 F12 to 1 S18 possibly even 2 S18's. On the other hand, if you get a wide room you would benefit from 2 F12's per side. And again, subs with this depends on program material, but if you were using 2 F12's for coverage rather than SPL then 1 or 2 S18's would still be fine. I've used a single F12 per side with a 2x18 box per side a number of times with very good results. The tops and subs you buy depends on how flexible you want your system. In an Ideal world you'd buy (manufacturer and model doesn't matter here I am just using the ongoing example) 4 F12's and 4 S18's, and then use as much or as little as you needed for each venue. Possibly even 8 S18's although that's alot of boxes. You could split your amp racks and processing using 2 of the Martin Controllers or indeed any of the much cheaper and much more flexible ones so the system can go out all as one with an amp rack per side, or as 2 separate systems. (This may be of no use to you but it's just a suggestion). Rob
RobertKendall
hi, I agree, using sub+top would be a waste of the F15, and I would agree F12+S15/S18 rather than F15+S15/S18 but personally id have the F15 for more flexability, because of its extended LFs, it also works well as a bog standard 2x top setup in smaller venues where the subs are overkill, or impractical. Rob_Beech
This is true, but I've never been disappointed with the full range response from the F12 either. It all depends what takes priority, the vocals or the guitar / drums. Rob
James K
The RCF TT are a good choice I know a few people that are using them now and they certainly rave bout them, the TT25's have a very good spec especially on the spl side they are very loud and still retain all the detail you need. RCF have always had a good name and lot of the high end manufacturers use there drivers and compression drivers, so you know that your getting a good system. RCF, Martin and Nexo all good manufacturers so I suppose it just comes down to personal choice. One question I would like to ask and going off subject a little, but there was a big problem with RCF when they where owned by Loud(Mackie) and they seem to have been back on form since they went on there own again, does anyone know if the Loud thing is having an effect on Martin with regards to service, support and general quality? Cheers James
Rob_Beech
The Quality doesn't appear to be affected in any way. The service and support is just as bad as it's always been so I don't think it's having an effect which is good. Rob
