If you're using a vision mixer, a lot of vision mixers offer basic chroma/luma key like that. Wouldn't be too hard to do in hardware (and more often than not preferable to software). paulears
The snag doing this way for lve work is that it's yet another delay - if it's digital then the codec delay is going to be annoying, and if it's analogue then it's a quality issue. I reckon adding it at mix stage is most simple - assuming your mixer can do it. If it can't, perhaps you have a budget issue? I've had to do this once by cascading two digital mixers, and the delay was very annoying. I needed to be able to insert a source as a pip, but have it move live, which the main mixer couldn't do. Linking the output to the second input looked good - but made any camera moves very disturbing for the cameraman when they saw the projected image move out of the corner of their eye. Nick Mawer
What signal type are the live feeds? If they are CV or YC then this might be the product for you http://www.kramerelectronics.co.uk/indexes...sp?name=VA-2002
