Feed me AV
I currently have a Kramer VP-724Xl switcher which as never let me down and been a great piece of kit. My one gripe with it is that it fades though black when switching. I get round this by using a vision mixer into the switcher for all live video but I was just wondering if there was a unit that wasn't more than £2k that I should look at. Pete McCrea
It´s probably going to be a Kramer 727 or something from TVone at that Price Point. I don´t have price lists at hand at the moment. Also depends on the number and type of inputs required. There have been a good few questions of a simillar type on here recently so worth a good search. Feed me AV
I have an account with Kramer and got the price yesterday for the 727. Not really seen much from TVone but seen it brought up on here a few times.
Pete McCrea
They seem to offer good quality products at sensible rates, along with a good number of features. All the processing seems to be software based with their own chips IIRC from the rep's visit over 9 months ago. I've not had the chance to A/B their kit so couldn't tell you how they compare next to an Extron/Barco/Kramer unit.
Dave lee
Have you looked at the Extron IN1508?
splodge360
My Barco dcs100 switcher arrives at the end of the month, 6 vga analogue, 2 dvi digital, and Hd/SDi digi video inputs, 3 output formats, 3 battery backed up framestore logos, Keying of laptop text over video output etc, seemless crossfading from cat5 5 remote, but top of the range costs double your budget, but looks to be the neatest bit of kit at the moment.keep an eye on ebay, but anything now unwanted virtually allways switches via black.
