DSA
Well, why so many mics on Question Time?? The speakers each have a lapel mic...then theres some sort of directional mic in front of each speaker - and then a couple of PZM's to round it off..... Surely this is overkill, or can someone please explain!! Thanks,David
Tom
I'm guessing but I'd have thought redundancy? It goes out live, if they loose a mic it would be a bit embarrassing.
IanG
I'm guessing but I'd have thought redundancy?Spot on, I should imagine. The directional mics act as backup for the lapels, and the PZMs are probably just for studio ambience. You'll also see really important people wearing lapels with 2 mics attached (although probably not on Question Time)
