Pete McCrea
List on the DCS100 HD/SDI is £4197, Standard version £3371. I knew I'd written it down somewhere...
buck rogers
I've used octos from Analog Way. they're similar to the Presentation Pro but they seamless switch (cut/fade) between all inputs. Some of them have also preview out which is very handy. I know that True Colours distributes them in the UK.
David Lee
Not convinced you could compare the octos to the presentation pros, then again your profile states that you work for Analog way...
BERT
We have had a large variety of switchers and now have all Folsom/Barco. SP, SPII, ENCORE, PRES. PRO, IMAGE PRO. All are excellent and phone support is spot on. We do not have one of the new DCS100's.

Mac Man
Analog way are nice switchers, like folsom. depending on which swicther you go for as follows exentex and screen pro switchers allow you to size the each image separately, they alos allow you to mix, cut and key images. let me know how you were thinking of using the switch. Thegael
HiI am a bit of a fan of Extron gear, and indeed the ISS506, is great and has all the trimmings, picture in picture etc... I also have Extron SGS 408s, very similar to the ISS408, with a different front panel and a few different features. The ISS408 will seamlessly switch anything from composite signals through to high res computer, and each of the 8 inputs can be configured to anything coming in. The downside of this switcher is that the front panel is not very operator friendly, with the buttons being small and black. There is a great remote Extron make called the RCP2000, which runs this like a full production mixer, with a cool T bar for manual fades. The RCP2000 remote is also compatable with the SGS408 and ISS506.The ISS can also be run via ethernet.Unfortunately I have no idea of the local pricing, as I live on the other side of the planet. I would suggest looking out for some B-stock or ex-tour ones, which occasionally show up for a reasonable price. Hope this was some help Glenn

The octo's, for example the octo fx and the octo vue fx are not actually seemless across all 8 channels. They will seemlessly switch from sync input to another but all other transitions are through black.
Nick Mawer
At the risk of resurrecting an old thread, the Kramer VP-727 is seamless across all 8 input channels. We will always try, wherever possible, to arrange demonstrations of our product.
Andrew Smith
If any one would like a demonstration of any of our products, we have sales and technical staff cover the whole of the UK and Ireland so please contact myself or Nick privately and we will arrange a visit. pauldub
I just had a look at some of the Edirol products on their website, the V-44sw looks like it might be a worth while product in this category. anyone seen or used this?
Corporate AV Belfast
We use Kramer VP range for small meeting and conferences... but for events and large conferences we use the Extron SGS408. It really is the best I've ever used. When we first got it I thought there was a problem with the component input.. turns out that on most DVD players you have to select Component output on the internal menu section... We also have both remotes for this unit and occionally I dribble on it! It seems so simple for a unit to do what it does... but it only seems simple because it does it so well... I would highly recommend it to anyone. For camera feed we use upscalers at the minute, but we are hoping to upgrade our cameras to Component output as soon as possible. Does anyone know if there is any problems with running component feeds over 60m? Cheers, Dave
spove
Please don't forget to truely seamlessly switch between two sources you will need two scalers. Also you can buy switchers on the market these days that cost £1000 but you will only get that level of quality and you can pay £3000 but you will get £3000 worth of quality. So basically if you pay very little for you unit you are not likely to get the image quality that you would in a more expensive unit. I have been looking around also recently for some new kit and one thing that certianly I was very keen to know was the delay of the switchers, I found that the winner on the units that I looked at was the AnalogWay units with only 1 frame where as the others were 2,3,4 frames. Does anyone know anything about this new Tetra Vio from AnalogWay? I have just seen the spec sheet and it looks good, does anybody else have any more details??
