GaryCatlin
Hi all, I am new here, and would like some help with a project I have been given. My school have placed me incharge of the school stage, this has an old Tempus 12 dimmer unit on it, now the lighting board that was with it is broken. I have got a demux unit to change the new DMX signal to analouge so the current tempus unit will work. Now the problem I have is wiring the 8 pin dim that comes out of the tempus unit into the 24pin on the back of the De-multiplexer unit I can not find a simple diagram to tell me on the net can anyone help please!!! boatman
Before we can help, you need to tell us which demux you have. The pinout of the the Tempus connectors can be found here. The Tempus racks use the same configuration as the Zero88 connector. However they need 0 -> -10V control voltages and not the more common 0 -> +10V. I hope the demux you have is switchable. Yes the Demux is a BOTEX ME-72 MULTI EXCHANGER I found the tempus wiring on the net, but its the connections on the demux box I am having problems with, I have tried two different ways so far the first all light were flickering when the light desk was set to black out, I kinda figured that was wrong ;) the second attemp all the lights come up and fade down again but are on one fader on the lighting desk. adamharman
am I right in thinking that pin 13 is ground for both sets of dimmers? Yes. Make sure you've got the output set to -10v on the switches on the rear of the demux too. Strange things (and possibly smoke!) will happen if it's set wrong.
