steventaylor Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Hi I was thinking of using some split Yellow/Light Green gels for Leaf Breakup gobos. Can anyone tell me if I need to tape the join of the gels or will a small overlap be OK. These are on 650W Quartet profiles. Can anyone give me an opinion on how effective split gels are in such a situation. Thanks Steve
david.elsbury Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Play with it! You won't get a well-defined edge anyway... do whatever looks good on stage (unless of course the audience can actually see the surface of the gel, in which case you may wish to make it as tidy as possible) Edit: and don't make the mistake of using cyc silk (Colour and frost in the same filter)- gobos won't come through, as it's a frost David
chris_c-lighting Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I have experimented with patching gel together before and can get amazing results,HT clear tape-used for scrollers also, does work wellIf you have a bit of budget though I would recommend the rosco colourisers/polarisersthey look really good with a metal gobo behind them.
