yeletah
Can someone explain to me the science behind my query - why when I hard focus a profile with gobo, then de-focus it one direction the edges go blue, de-focus it the other and the edges go yellow? Thanks.
J Pearce
Chromatic Aberration is the short answer. The reason is that lenses work by slowing light down. The amount 'drag' caused by the lens is related to the wavelength. For the visible light spectrum a lens' 'drag' won't vary much, but will vary enough to cause chromatic aberration. Coating the lens with clever chemicals can lessen this effect. [edited for spelling][and again for accuracy]
