anotherlightingguy
My fellow lighting tech's, I need some help. I have some fairly new Martin Mac 250 entour's with less than 325 hrs and a couple of them are giving me some tilt problems. They start to jog and do not home correctly. I have used Martin oil on the bearings and I have no luck. Possiably they were sent on a show with the lock still on and eventually released. The next step is to swap motors. I just don't want to until I know for sure. Have there been such problems elsewhere with new fixtures? Any help would be great
dave singleton
When you say they start to jog and don't home properly do they do this from start up? As in does it seem they have changed home positions? Failing that is it random? Could be a multitude of things, and unlikely to be motors if its multiple fixtures. AndyJones
How many entours have you got? it might be worth swapping a motor out of a working model? the Entours are modular I believe so it shouldn't be to hard. When you first turn it on, does it reset and sstart up correctly? if not it could be the limit switches? or the control chip (more likely) the best thing is to be systamatic, if you have another working unit then swap it out module by module untill you find the fault. Hope this makes sence. I'm not a Martin repair tech but have fixed all Mac issues I have had before! AndyJones

The factory default home position is what I was trying to say and yes as soon as I would adjust the tilt, the head would get lost and jog. I then would rst through the fixture itself and the default home position would no be the same.
