DanielArkley Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 If anyone knows of any desk simulators that I can try out for free, other than the Avolites Pearl one, please can you let me know, as I am interested in having a bash on something other than an Alcora, even if it is virtual!
Fleeting Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Greetings, Strand lighting do a 500 series OLE( off line editor) that behaves the same as the desk on your PC. It doesn't like windows XP ( probably due to lack of DOS on XP). If you have a look at there web site you should be able to download it there. Hope this Helps Fleeting...
DanielArkley Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 Am I glad I have XP :** laughs out loud **:Ta.
Potassium Neuf Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 There is a simulator called the Phantom Frog which simulates any of the desks in the Frog Series and the Frog Box :** laughs out loud **: CLICK HERE
James C Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 ETC has a downloadable software page with various OLEs on it
martinw Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Hog PC can be downloaded from here. There is also a demo version of Martin Show Designer, a visualisation program. This runs on the same computer as Hog PC, and connects to its output. This is really good for learning the console as you can see what all your fixtures are doing. Martin
DanielArkley Posted February 20, 2004 Author Posted February 20, 2004 Thanks for your feedback guys, I'll give them all a bash (as I said!)

There's also an OLE for the GrandMA at the MA Lighting site. Compulite have one for their little 'Rave' desk, and I believe they will soon be releasing one for the Vector.

jamesd Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 you could download the chamsys PC desk. I have been playing with it on both Artistic licence dongle and with a borrowed Artnet box. It has loads of functions and as a free program that is fully enabled it has to be one of the best to learn.you can download it from www.chamsysy.co.uk/support.html. The manual is included with the program so only do the one download. The graphics need to be improved but as it seems to be a program being actively developed I guess it will improve over time. James
