Ike
Just wondering where people get theirs and am I right in thinking BECTU no longer offer it free with membership? If they don't how much is it and do you think it would be worth joining just for that. I am a full (individual) member of the PSA if that makes a difference. Thanks Ike P.S. I know this has been sort of covered before but wasn't sure how much things have changed and how many other companies/organisations offer public liability insurance. EDIT: you really would have expected me to learn :D
Tom
I don't know where other people get their insurance from but I have mine with my BECTU membership. It was free when I joined up about six months ago. I'd think the best place to get up-to-date information on BECTU insurance would be from...BECTU. A quick look reveals that they now seem to be charging £15/year for £3m Public Liability cover. Seems like good value to me.
Rob
I've still got my PL with BECTU. I did hear a rumour that they were going to stop it in the next couple of years - don't know if its just chinese whispers though...
Ike
After talking to someone at BECTU I can confirm their public liability insurence is between £10 and £15 per year. This charge was introduced after a 500% rise in the premium for BECTUs group insurance!
