kalmatthew
Um If you were to replace smoke op with pyro op then the poll might be more usefull :** laughs out loud **:
Stu
To be honest any of it is fun, but nothing beats slowing scanning a bank of movers through a light haze, over the audience - or fading up a rich vibrant backlight on a singer etc Stu
Andy!
Thats exactly what I like Stu.
dominicgross
You almost make sitting behind a desk pressing the 'GO' button sound romantic?? Nothing beats sitting down behind a Yamaha 01V and watching you preset levals fade into them selfs. Then the look of surprise on the singers face when they hear their first line in their IEM, with compression and reverb, and they think 'Wow, I really sound like that'? Stu
Ah it's only romantic when it's your rig, and your gig :** laughs out loud **: Stu

sam.henderson
Stage manager or DSM! Got to b the best.A DSM ins right in the middle of everything. A DSM is controlling the entire peformance and everything going on on stage. Most boring job in the theatre has to be either FOH Manager or SOUND operator. Thats just what I think  :D :D :D :D :D

P. Funk
LX opping you are stuck FOH with only the DSM and other cans ops to talk to... backstage is much more fun...
PeterT
Most boring job in the theatre has to be either FOH Manager or SOUND operator.Yeah Right, you've obviously been doing the wrong shows  I like lighting best but it must be said I've really enjoyed doing musicals when the band are in a remote room and the WHOLE LOT are under my control. I did chess a few years back and the start of the show had a click track with pre-recorded chorus. It was my finger that started the whole show.. Now That's Power! Having said all that, their last Show , Merrie England, YAAAWWWNNN no radios no mics on the band, 9 mics on stage and 1 sound effect! I've had more fun it must be said... Stu
LX opping you are stuck FOH with only the DSM and other cans ops to talk to...That can work to your advantage... If you've got a nice DSM who's up for a good old chat all week than your sorted (and not bored). And if she's female, than so much the better  Stu
