Andy!
Hey is there a limit for the amount of smoke you should let out at one time H&S wise. Moderation, 29/1/04 21:03 - topic moved from Staging & Rigging
chris512
The rule as I see is it is that the cast (and Audience) must be able to see iluminated Exit Signage. Other than that - SMOKE THEM OUT ! ! ! !
Tom
I'm not sure there are specific limits but "Smoke Them Out" is not a good approach from a H+S point of view. There was an article in the Safety Matters section of Sightline (the ABTT magazine) recently about the effect of prolonged exposure to stage smoke. Can't lay my hands on at it the moment - maybe somebody else can.

sam.henderson
However much smoke you use make sure you do a good 'risk asseesmen'. That way you covered health and saftey wise. Make sure this includes things about illuminated Emergancy Exit signs and If you will be having to turn the Theatres Smoke alarm off to use smoke (i.e. changing the system from smoke detect to heat detectors) Sam
