Pastie Kid Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 does anyone know the tech spec for Liquid nightclub in ipswich?? part of the luminar group I believeFOH System?Mains Supply?anything else that might be relevant? cheers :)
mac.calder Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Easiest way to get that information is to give them a call and ask. If the people in admin cannot tell you, they would be able to either give you the number of their inhouse tech team, or a contact with a company who regularly put things on there.
paulears Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Does this help? The huge 22 x 14 meter dancefloor, with a ceiling height of some 8 meters, gives ample room for speaker placement. Four SlingShot MS 1262 mid/high boxes team up with 4 SlingShot 118i subs in each corner of the dancefloor, the powerful system effectively covering the venue. Three Installation Series M182i subwoofers are centered at the end of the dancefloor to complete the main dancefloor system. Sixteen M68i In-fills are spread throughout the club as peripheral speakers, one placed every 5 meters. As you might expect from a club called Liquid, the interior designs are dominated by flowing architectural lines and swirling spaces. Clarity is a definite theme in Liquid as well whether you’re talking about sound, lighting or design. This clarity in interior design is perfect for color washes, video projection and lighting effects for example. Luminar Chief Executive Stephen Thomas explains the Liquid concept this way. "What we have is a static concept which can be interpreted in differing ways, using the technology to create a specific ambience." Gobo effects from Martin MAC 250s and RoboScan 518s help add pattern to the venue. Martin lighting and Mach speakers were supplied by Lynx Lighting.

Pastie Kid Posted May 10, 2007 Author Posted May 10, 2007 s'all gravy now, gig went well... or as well as it could.that "tech spec" sounds old its now, a badly laid out CVA system, main mid-highs in a circle surrounding the dance floor shooting over peoples heads, subs ALL under one third of the circular dance floor all facing the center, interlaced with fogs, hazers etc, some really cool lasers that I got a fantastic picture of. A stage, rectangular, unsure of measurements, with a shiny flat wall at the back, a half wall each side, and half a wall at the front which cuts performers heads off, all walls and ceilings around stage are shiny Main feed to the house PA is a pair of XLRs near the back or stage right, mains available for stage is 4 double 13amp sockets, also stage right, and possibly the same stage left, but wasn't over that side, didn't notice. Just for future reference if anyone needs it again/I forget for next time LaterzAndy Edit: HTML code doesn't work in quick edit...Moderation: HTML doesn't work at all, you need to use BBCode [b]all[/b] in your case.
