Trunker Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Does anyone know how to get a strand quartet case fully apart so that I can re-wire it? Yes I am ok to do it before anyone asks and it is going to be PAT tested as well.
Mr Steve Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 On the side of the lantern where the case hinges, theres a round rubbery thing with a hole in. Wedge a screwdriver in here and prize it out. You can then get the top and bottom appart.

sparkyweb Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Be careful, if the casting has been slightly stressed at any time, I have seen the "ears" that it hinges in, have snapped. You have almost no chance of getting a replacement now!
JMC Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Quartet's are still being advertised by Strand/Genlyte... One would think spares wouldn't be an issue?! Strand Website
Trunker Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 On subject of quartets, if anyone has any they want to sell PM me to discuss a price. I am after the Fresnel and Pebble Convex types. Any other strand Lanterns (no PATT's) also needed such as minim range, harmony's and preludes (all PC and/or F) wanted. Look forward to hearing from you.
