Tuesday 1st May - 11.00am Andy Lenthall - PSA - Selling off the airwaves & other production news An update on Production issues from the viewpoint of the PSA. This will of course include the latest on developments with Ofcom’s Digital Dividend Review. With the consultation on Ofcom’s first proposal complete, they are promising further discussion with PMSE users on proposals for protecting our access to spectrum for radio microphones and in-ear monitors. Other topics will include research into just how much noise we are exposing workers to, HSE research into work at height and the progress of the PSA’s Safety Passport Scheme for our industry. Tuesday 1st May - 12.30pm Andy Doig - LD - Lighting the 15th Asian Games in Doha A guide through the Lighting Design for the 15th Asian Games in Doha 2006, an event with over 1500 fixtures. This presentation will focus on design and conception, human resources, 3D design and renderings, networking and control, product choice, media servers, structural design and set electrics, LED screens and projection. Tuesday 1st May - 4.00pm Look Out - Here Come The Vidiots! Bernie Davis is a Television Lighting Designer whose interests have led his career into the cross-over between stage lighting and television lighting. As well as designing a range of shows from The Royal Variety Performance to Royal Weddings and The BBC Proms, he has worked on the recording of many stage productions for television transmission including the recent BBC broadcast of Wagner's Ring Cycle recorded at Covent Garden. This presentation explores the difference in lighting techniques used for stage and TV. Wednesday 2nd May - 11.00am Video is here... to stay!
