Lozza Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Are There Any Restrictions On Sound And Light At Private Party's? i.e. Maximum Sound Levels And Health And Safety Regs... Thanks.
StevieR Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I think you'll find that the regs are the same regardless - its just that at a private event you are less likely to have someone enforcing them. However, if there is an accident and you've 'bent' the rules a bit then you may find yourself in rather hot water with the relevant authority. Steve
Bryson Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Indeed - I come across this a lot: "It's a private event, so we can ignore rule x..." You can't. Treat it like any other event.
Jivemaster Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Private is normally taken as by invitation rather than by ticket. As for regs nothing changes. Health and Safety covers all workers and all people who have a usual right to be there. The biggest problem is with nuisance. If you cause a statutory nuisance then the police and environmental health will take an interest. A nuisance occurs when someone feels nuisanced noise is prob the most likely then disturbance, lighting, guest behavoir etc.
J Pearce Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 If private means by invitation then everything applies as per usual. If private means me and a few mates having a party in one of our houses, and I'm bringing some light/sound gear, then I would think the only regs that would apply would be noise nuisance.
