Hi I am stuck again with a problem :<,

I have been looking for a DMX desk that has 24 channels on it and 24 sliders to control the 24 channels, and I have found two boards that both have 24 channels,

The ShowTec SceneSetter 24

and

The Behringer Eurolight LC2412

Right I know that the Showtec one has 24 sliders of which all control one channel, but the second row also controls the pre-programmed scenes if I wish to use them.

but I am unsure about the Behringer board, If says it has 24 sliders of which you can control the 24 channels but in the manual it looks like the top 12 channel all the 24 channels and the bottom 12 sliders control the pre-programmes does anyone know if I can control the other 12 channels with them bottom sliders.

I hope someone can help and that I have put this is reasonable english for everyone to understand,

thanks for the help,

from

usaly with a 24 chan lighting desk, it either runs as 24 seporate controll channels, or you can run it with 2 sets of 12 channels, meaning the channels are doubled up, lowing you to cossfade between the 2 banks, of the same channels.

and you should be able to switch the bottom row, of 12 faders to operate as sub faders, or groups of channels, (scenes)

also, the behringers secpnd row is memory

The second row is actually either the two (12) channel preset or in wide mode, channels 13 - 24. I think it also does offer some degree of memory playback as you've posted.

Jambo - I can only suggest the slightly more expensive 2nd hand Strand MX24 which is currently on AC Lighting for about 300 notes.

It's a 24 channel 2 preset desk, but also has the feature to go into 1 preset mode with 24 channels, while making the bottom preset into 24 submasters, which gives an awful amount of control over what you can do.

It'll also do a theatre style playback (ish), and has a Live chase function, where you can control 2 pages of 6 chases, and edit the speeds, functions etc live on the desk, without having to get lost in menus.

Hope this helps.

Not too familiar with the Behringer lighting desks (funnily enough you don't come across them very often in the theatre/corporate world!), but I'd suggest a browse through the LC2412 manual. I'm sure the answers you need will be in there.

there is a second hand zero88 lightmaster XLS is on eBay at £340 atm.. its not too bad as a theatrical control desk for 24 channels, and quite cheap. discontinued now though.

top row is used as individual channels, bottom row is submasters (9 pages of 24). you can also set up to 10 chase sequences... and playback 2 at the same time.

I was waiting for someone to mention zero88, meant to be gettign a package from them soon woo hooo, anywat a little OT there.

we could be getting rid of one of our alcora's, not saying it is gonna be definite, but might be... if you havent decided, we might be able to sell it to you for a mutually agreeable price

ever thought about the sirius 24 - should be able to do all the things you say.

and may be a bit cheaper than the xls [ although I don't know if it is]
