dave_m Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi guys,Got bored half way through half term, so I'm trying to learn how to use a GrandMA desk, using the onPC version and the 3D visualizer. Is there any such thing as an idiots guide to GrandMA?
mattwright15 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi Dave Unfortunately there isn't a idiots guide to Grand MA; this is simply because the desk is not for idiots. But if you want to learn the console from the basics, MA Lighting do a free training DVD which teachs you most of the simple things. But the Grand MA is a console which you must do a training course before you can start to understand all the In's and outs of it.Even some of the most experienced programmers need the training as the console can now do so much which is why it is currently being used on quit a few west wend shows. Its not just a lighting desk any more. To get a training DVD you should contact Richard Lambert of MA Lighting UK or visit the MA Lighting website. http://www.MALighting.com/grandmadvd.html Matt

dave_m Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 Hi guys,Thanks for that, I realised that this wasn't an idiots desk when I first looked at it. Just putting my own twist on a popular book series! Starting to get used to it now (starting being the operatative word!) because I found the manual somewhere on the net. It's actually quite a nice desk. I've heard that you can customize the desk to be like others. Is this true? If so, how?
SmokeMonkey Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 My (small) suggestion would be to get yourself together with the desk. If there's a few people interested, then Richard will normally try to to do a full demo for a day - I attended one organised via the ALD a while back and it was very informative - we had every GrandMA desk and console there! e: typo

The Grand MA range is AWESOME!
