tom_the_LD Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 I have downloaded the "R20 files for Cachebuilder" file onto my desktop (as was lead to believe as what I had to do by an earlier thread I found), however when I try and open it I get an Error Message 'Cachebuilder Software not found The Cachebuilder fixture library cannot be installed. What do I need to do? Am I missing some software? All answers greatly appreciated.
tom_the_LD Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 Thanks nic. Slightly off-topic, but how do you get a visualiser to work with the Pearl Simulator. I downloaded the tool thingy but to no success.
niclights Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Tool thingy? You should just need Vis & Sim. Select 'simulator' in Vis run mode and away you go. (obviously you need to go to design mode and place fixtures/address etc. to see any results!)
andylights Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Keep a look out for the soon to be released... Tool Thingy Expert... (Nick has one on beta) :D
tom_the_LD Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 I'll keep a look out - let me know if it becomes a public beta :D Is it only the avolites visualiser that works? Or will any visualiser do the job?
andylights Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Did you mean will any visualiser work with the Avow Peral (now there's a typo I'm leaving!) sim ? You need the ACDI download to transfer DMX data from the Sim to a 3rd party Visualiser, but for a 3rd party vis to be full functional you would have to buy it. I don't know if there are any fully working free vis that will work with ACDI and Pearl Sim.... Anyone? HTH Andy
tom_the_LD Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 I have a vis which is pretty fully functioning. That ACDI was the tool thingy I meant! But when I started it up, it said in order for it to work I needed to send my details to <e-mail address>. I sent a couple off, not all as I wasn't sure what was at the other end, and got a reply from postmaster@avolites.org telling me that the e-mail address didnt work. :D Anyone have any ideas?
tom_the_LD Posted April 8, 2007 Author Posted April 8, 2007 Still haven't got it working - so ideas still welcome :D
Tomo Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Which visualiser are you using?Just so we're all singing from the same hymn sheet.
tom_the_LD Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 I would like to get the vis to work with Magic 3D Easyview. But I need the ACDI tool to do it. But it says it needs a product key and to send an e-mail to the address specified to get one, which I did but a reply from postmaster@avolites.org.uk telling me my mail was undeliverable because the address did not exist. EDIT: corrected e-mail address
danjshelton Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 But it says it needs a product key and to send an e-mail to the address specified to get one, which I did but a reply from postmaster@avolites.org telling me my mail was undeliverable because the address did not exist. I think that you'll find that the avolites domain is avolites.org.uk, so you need to send to postmaster (at) avolites.org.uk (Replace (at) with @!), as of yet I don't think that just .org goes anywhere. Try that and see how you get on. Dan
tom_the_LD Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 I meant to put org.uk - just a bad typo! That was not that address I was told to send to. When I ran ACDI for the first time it said' Send an e-mail to dmxinterfacekey@avolites.com to obtain the product key'. This I did and got a reply from postamster@avolites.org.uk saying my message could not be delievered.
niclights Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Maybe easiest thing to do is call Avo now that we're out of Easter hols.
