yeletah Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I'm soon to be lighting a show in which most of the scenes will be green - 736 to be precise. I need an earthy colour to compliment it but everything I try ends up being dominated by the green. Ideally, I need something as a subtle backlight. I've not used green too much, so I'm kind of at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
woody74 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 It might depend heavily on what you want to see on stage. A little more detail about the show will garner you better answers. Lighting something entirely green will dramatically change the set and costumes (of course this is true for most saturated colors). And adding more saturated color to it will only muddy it up. If you are just trying to create separation and definition on stage, maybe either white or medium pink backlight or sidelight. The pink "should" counter the green pleasingly and help to pull out detail from the subject you are lighting. My second choice (given you have not told us what it is, why you are using green almost exclusively, or what genre of show it is) would be a medium blue. -w
