Jamtastic3 Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Hey BR,I've tried looking for an older thread but to no avail.I've managed to grab a Screen Driver from the lock-up for my Masterpiece 216. Now, the problem I have is getting a signal to the required source. My first instinct was to use the SCART socket as my output signal (RGB). I tried using the CGA output via VGA adaptor onto a computer monitor but the signal wasn't detected. Does anyone know why this is?SCART which is still popular today with TV's is my best result so what kind of monitor/TV do I need considering the signal is going to be RGB? Can I buy any cheap tv (flat LCD preferred) with a SCART like this one from Argoooos: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...%29%3D15.15.htm or does it have to have to have PAL or NTSC or anything like wise??? Thankoo
andylights Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 I tried using the CGA output via VGA adaptor onto a computer monitor but the signal wasn't detected. What type of converter was it? IIRC CGA to VGA can not be achieved without some electronics . You may have done some damage - try the RF output and see if you are getting anything at all. Some further info here. HTH Andy
Jamtastic3 Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 It was definetely a converter of some sort - from 9 pin to 15 pin, which I thought was CGA to VGA but I actually now mean the RGB output (9 pin) to VGA (15 pin). Got my signals mixed up.
MarcT Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 A bog standard telly with a SCART in should do the job. Bear in mind that SCART can carry RGB, Composite Video, or SVideo - and you have to tell the TV which you want. This is sometimes achieved by pressing the AV button multiple times, or selecting AV then using the fast-text buttons. Info about the screen driver is here:http://www.pulsarlight.com/Screen Driver.htm HTH!Marc Edit: Dunno why - can't make the link work...
