quadtrero10 Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Hi, I'm going to join a knew company the next month and one of my duties is to find a knew ground support and truss system for them. I worked the last three years in uk but haven't had the chance to work with this stuff. Usually I worked with Total Fabs, Tomcat and Thomas, no questions about the quality of this truss but need to offer different alternatives to the company . As the system is mainly for our own gigs and not for hire (maybe possible in the future) we don't really need to go after a brand name), what I'm after is a good quality cost effective truss and I found this truss quite interesting. I compared all the loading capacities, joining systems etc... and it seems to be within the standards. If anyone has ever worked with this truss I would appreciate all kind of information such us welding, joining features etc. By the way, during my time in uk I worked under the LOLER and some rigging standards wihich I could follow and refer to.Now I'm trying to find something similar that covers Europe so I have somewhere to refer to anytime I show or share information with some one about some rigging techniques and safety issues such as safety factors, etc...I found some helpful info in some manufacturer web pages but not sure under what kind of regulations are tIy working as I assume that those guidelines are just their one recommendations and not an official or regulated document. Thank you for your time and if there is something that it's not clear enough just let me know and I'll try to be a bit more precise. Urko Arruza.
Ike Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 No problems with the Milos truss whatsoever. We have used a large quantity of the circular triangular trussing on many occasions as well as the MR3 roof on a couple of occasions and found everything to be of very good quality and quite a bit less work than a number of other systems... I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have. Ike

quadtrero10 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Thanks both for your reply I really appreciate your comments. The MR 3 roof is the one we are after so we can use it as an indoor ground support system as well. I`m not surprised about your comments as everything I heard about the manufacturer have been good words. I think this is the kind of stuff and manufacturer support we are after. Thank you for your help. best regards. Urko Arruza.
Network_Josh Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Ike, Did you use the MR3 in this country? Did not know that there were any here yet? No problems with the Milos truss whatsoever. We have used a large quantity of the circular triangular trussing on many occasions as well as the MR3 roof on a couple of occasions and found everything to be of very good quality and quite a bit less work than a number of other systems... I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have. Ike
Ike Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Nope, Germany. I seem to recall it being hired off Milos via a local distributer but was working more on the FX side of things so can't be one hundred percent certain.
Dave_NA Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 If anybody wants to hire the MR3 roofing system in the UK then contact me as we have just bought one and used it last weekend. Very nice and gives a stage size of over 60' by 40'.
