Lighting Course

Hi Everyone,

 

Apologies if this has been covered in the past, but I have searched and found nothing on the specific subject.

 

At the moment, I am a partner in a small hire company, and do a fair amount of freelance work. I am looking for some ideas of a suitable course that is aimed at lighting design for concert type work (I have little interest in Theatre).

 

Any ideas?

I'll be honest, unless going in at Uni level there isn't a lot. Your best bet is to watch what others do. Get DVD's, go and see as much as you can. Thats how I learnt. I did a theatrical based course and it didn't help much for the concert field I was interested in, however it does give you the basics you'll need. Then you can interpret that into what ever you want.
