jennyward28 Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I am looking to Buy/Hire/Build a large trolley, roughly 12Ft Long, 2Ft Wide and a it's centre point 6Ft Tall. It needs to be a rectangle pyramid shape with a flat top 6Ft high for someone to stand on, with back support. Any help would be much appreciated
w/robe Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 My advice would be lots of weight in the bottom. It is going to be relatively high and narrow so that even when it is travelling along its length it is going to be in danger of tipping over.
tom w Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Hi Jenny,Unless anyone has such an item sitting around in the back of a warehouse, you will probably have to fabricate. As a one- off this may not be the most cost efficient solution. What is the final look and purpose of the trolley? We may be able to supply a system scaffold with wheels and counterweights as a more demountable solution.Feel free to send me a pm if you wish to discuss further.
landy Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 other things to think about is what wheels you use, 'flight case' wheels have a degree of sponginess so will add to the wobble, also what is the floor covering? Dance floor can be a bit spongy sometimes. Is there the possibility of out riggers? Consider the RA if this was a scaff tower, so out riggers, kick boards, hand rails ladder on the inside to keep the weight within the base footprint. Will it need to move with the brave actor at the top?
