Stewart Newlands
Birdie Designs, I have been trying to find a presentable and efficient design to replace about 150 birdies, but am not having much luck. I quite like the design featured here http://www.light-engineering.com/theatre%20lighting.pdf BUT they now do a different model. The shell used to have a neat bubble holder which prevented fall out in transit or if flown, a durable paint finish and 2 locking points. I don't like the james Thomas shell, has anyone any recommendations?
Richard Bunting
Hi, have you looked at the AC Lighting Vision range? They are actually made by DTS (www.dts-show.com), and I see that the prices haven't changed in nearly 5 years! HTH Richard

LDODD
The shell used to have a neat bubble holder which prevented fall out in transit or if flown Can you clarify this further? I also have had to change Birdie supplier, as the new model does not meet my requirements. I am inserting LED units into the cans - and so require an actual lamp support, rather than the 2 pin base that is now offered. Is this the detail that you are referring to? If so, then you may have real difficulty in finding a replacement unit. I have tried all the usual suspects, but most seem to be "lamp base" supported units. (Apologies if this is not the issue and I have therefore confused everyone...!)

(we also stock MR16 LED fittings)
DMX Will
We're currently using the terralec birdies.... black: http://www.terralec.co.uk/prod.asp?I=15842...10_LAMP_(BLACK) silver: http://www.terralec.co.uk/prod.asp?I=15843...0_LAMP_(SILVER) They're both the GU10 240v Versions, although I believe Terralec do the low-voltage equivalent. LDODD
*Phew* Glad I read it right.... I asked L/E for the contact for their previous supplier and was declined (for obvious reasons, I guess)The discontinuation of the old line was apparently due to a price increase. If I can get hold of an overseas supplier, I can import on volume and sell the old line. Problem is - finding them... Do you have any old packaging/product that has a manufacturer name/part code on? Thanks, Luke

LDODD
Hmmm I'm out of ideas then, as I truly exhausted my usual channels. Has anybody else followed this - and can help?
Stewart Newlands
After much discussion, I am hoping to organise a delivery of the old style LE can in silver from LE in a few weeks, if anyone would like a quantity (100+), please let me know as this will be a one off order. Please note I hope to have 100mm deep yokes, not the 80mm yokes that where standard, as this allows the cans to be rotated to vertical more easily. LDODD
Sounds good to me! I'll order as per conversation.... Where there's a will - there's the Blue-Room!
Paul J Need
Have you had a look at the Showtec version? We've changed over to this mainly for price reasons ( £5.50-£9.50 depending on type. If you lose one, as often happens, or it gets squished under a foot, we just unpack a new one from the sales stock.
