Pete
Two balanced analogue splits (sourced post each mic amp) are provided on the rear panel. The third, fixed gain, preamp feeds a transformer isolated split on the front panel for recording or broadcast applications. Not so Matt

mervaka
looks interesting, does anyone know if this uses the ethersound standard, or something else?
Yorkie
Is there anyone here who's used Brikworm then? I'm in touch someone who's considering it for a portable church system.
Matt Pengelly
I haven't used the Brikworm system, but I find the idea of a portable church pretty delightful. Presumably the services are conducted by mini-sters? I'll get my coat...
Peter F
Unfortunately the problem is that if you're doing a 3 way split with the XL8 system, you have to have an XL8 on FOH, and XL8 on mons and an XL8 doing the OB feed, and the hire costs for such an arrangement for a couple of weeks would probably buy me quite a nice flat. I'm not sure that statement is actually correct.I know that I've turned up to mix monitors several times where there's been a Pro6 out front and DL431 preamps on stage but I haven't had anything digital and Midas for my monitor desk. I don't remember it being one of those horribly compromised situation where I am at the mercy of the foh gain settings so there must be some sort of analogue split available. ...time passes... Just looked at the manual. There are a variety of analogue splits available from the DL431 box. You do not need a set of 3 XL8's. Andrew C
. You do not need a set of 3 XL8's. Maybe three years ago there wasn't the choice?
Peter F
. You do not need a set of 3 XL8's. Maybe three years ago there wasn't the choice? I did mention (although inadvertently) time passing! As a matter of fact the XL8 system has always had the DL431 splitters as part of the package so the posting was as incorrect several years ago as it is in the thread today. tolley1466
All good points above.I should say that Chris intends to have a "Brik" with ADAT/Lightpipe for digital desks.I quite agree that it's never going to do Pro events, only 24 channels for a start. But for smaller stuff, and some flexible install possibilities, I'm going to keep my eye on what happens next.I fully agree that much more tech spec is needed to tell if it's any good. I assume that'll be published sooner or later. ....mackie <snip> have promised a very well priced digital multicore very soon.......SHEILA Though with no splits in it. If I pay £3000 (I think) for a multicore I want splits! Have you looked at the Roland digital multis? (It's not really a multicore thinking about it :P) You can do all sorts such as splitting and controlling your pres remotely etc.
cedd
Keep your eyes on Behringer for the next couple of months. They're promising a new digi console with multicore. Knowing them, they won't leave it as a multi that can only be used with their desk. It will also interface with their new personal monitor mixers. All interesting stuff! At least there's a photo and feature list available. It should be shown at NAMM in two days time, so we'll get some tactile feedback soon. Cost ~$3000, but that doesn't seem to include the multicore. Only 6 auxes... What were they thinking ???
themadhippy
Only 6 auxes... What were they thinking ??? Dont forget the 16 mix busses, should be enough mixes for FOH and the odd monitor mix or

dbuckley
I've been getting embarrassingly excited over the Behringer X32, and the P-16 personal monitoring system. They're promising a "game changing" product, and the Behringer holding company owns some other allied brands with useful technology. Announcement due at Thursday NAMM. This might be (a lot) more than just another Behringer "me too" product...
